Henri le chat noir is not enjoying the season's Halloween spirit

Henri, le chat noir, is back, and the Internet's favorite ennui-riddled kitty is not feeling the Halloween spirit. Accompanied by his usual morose piano music, Henri waxes melancholic about his caretakers' willingness to trade their dignity for a few costumed laughs and says, "This is not a happy time of year for a black cat who does not suffer fools." Why, he wonders, must we hide our true selves behind disguises like ghouls, skeletons and astronauts and deny our true essence? After all, he makes a good point that "no one ever dresses as crippling self-doubt." It's a good point, but that costume probably doesn’t get as much candy as, say, the guy from the "Gangnam Style" video.
