Here's how even the socially awkward can strike up a convo
7/4/2012In this tech-crazed era, it's rare to see people chat with the strangers around them. Smartphones take the place of social interaction. In an attempt to resurrect the random run-in and lift people's attention from their feeds to actual faces (and films!), an experimental design collective from New Zealand has implemented a sidewalk micro-theater. The "Stairway Cinema" is built into an existing stoop. The stairs became seats and films are projected onto a canopy while pedestrians pass by below. Nothing like a good movie to get people talking, huh?
Would you sit and watch a movie with strangers while waiting for the bus?
