'Hero' dad kills man who allegedly abused his daughter

The father from Shiner, Texas, who beat to death a man he reportedly caught sexually assaulting his 4-year-old daughter is being hailed by some as a hero. The alleged abuser had been invited to the family's house on Saturday for a social gathering, and the girl was attacked inside the home while relatives were outside tending to the horses. "He got what he deserved," one resident told CNN, while Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon added, "You have a right to defend your daughter. He acted in defense of a third person." The father has not been charged; neither man has been publicly identified.
