Hero dog spends night protecting abandoned baby
6/6/2012Is there anything dogs WON'T do for humans? A pooch in Ghana is being called a hero after it spent the night protecting a newborn boy who had been abandoned by his mother. Officials say the dog ran off and was found under a bridge in the town of Winkongo, cradling the 2-week-old boy, whose umbilical cord was still attached. The cord was infected, but the baby was otherwise in good health. And now, thanks to his four-legged friend, he has a chance of survival in a new home.
