Hero firefighter rescues dogs with his own oxygen
6/12/2012This video has a terrifying beginning, as two seemingly lifeless dogs are removed from a burning home in Detroit. The dogs are left on the ground, and their anxious owner strokes them, apparently hoping to pet them back to life. That's when one of the firefighters removes his oxygen mask and gives it to the two dogs, and, just like that, they're breathing again, wagging their tails and taking some tentative steps across the owner's yard. The moving footage is part of an in-progress documentary on Detroit's firefighters, called "Burn" — and we're betting this clip is doing just as much to raise the filmmakers' finishing funds as its lauded debut in April at the Tribeca Film Festival.
