Hero mayor runs into burning house to rescue neighbor

Mayor Cory Booker is the city's new local hero after running into a burning house last night to help rescue his neighbor. Newark Fire Chief John Centanni said the mayor's frantic security detail tried to stop him from entering, but he stormed past them and together they rescued a woman stuck on the second floor. "We had some flame and heavy smoke conditions," said Centanni. "The situation could have been definitely a tragedy because it was just getting started." Brave Booker tweeted that he suffered smoke inhalation, describing his injuries -- including second-degree burns to his hand -- as "relatively minor."
