High schooler's petition to make 'Bully' PG-13 goes viral
3/18/2012Stop being bullies! That's the message from Michigan High School student Katy Butler to the Motion Picture Association of America. Butler, 17, wants the rating for "Bully," which chronicles the real-life effects of bullying in schools, to be downgraded from R to PG-13 so teenagers can see it by themselves. Ellen Degeneres, GLAAD and The Weinstein Co.'s Harvey Weinstein have thrown their support behind Butler's petition, which now has nearly 400,000 signatures, the Washington Post reports. Alas, the media-savvy Butler recently sat down with MPAA board members, who defended the rating as a tool to "inform" parents and said they would not change it.
Should the MPAA lower the rating for 'Bully?'
