Hipster robs bank; is grand larceny a hot new trend?

A Portland, Ore. bank was robbed Friday afternoon, and police are saying the bank robber “looked like a hipster” with a thin build, black cap, tan pants and glasses (that we have to assume had thick black frames.) This description is alarming, as hipsters are noted for being front-runners on trends that trickle down to mainstream popularity through absorption and mass distribution by Target, Forever 21 and other corporate outlets. If bank robbing is a hipster trend along the lines of “geek glasses,” colorful tattoo sleeves, or fake handlebar mustaches it could very well be a popular hobby in two years or even an acceptable wedding theme.
