Crew abandons 'Pirates of Caribbean' ship thanks to Hurricane Sandy10/29/2012
It wasn't so much "Mutiny on the Bounty" as "Evacuation of the Bounty." Two Coast Guard helicopters rescued 14 crew members from the tall ship "HMS Bounty" after they abandoned the vessel off North Carolina's Outer Banks Sunday night as Hurricane Sandy made its journey toward the East Coast. The ship issued a distress signal after taking on water around 90 miles southeast of Hatteras, N.C., before the crew climbed into two lifeboats with canopies. Two crew members are still missing. The 180-foot replica was made for the 1962 Marlon Brando movie "Mutiny on the Bounty" and also appeared in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest." [Source]
