HMV employee live-tweets a brutal round of layoffs
2/1/2013Memo to bosses: Remember who's got the Twitter password when you start the layoffs. For an exciting five minutes, employees live-tweeted the "mass execution of loyal employees" to 61,000 followers from music store chain HMV's U.K. headquarters, where nearly 200 jobs were lost today. "Under usual circumstances, we'd never dare do such a thing," one tweet read. "However, when the company you dearly love is being ruined ... there seemed no other choice." A mere 25 minutes later, the tweets were scrubbed off HMV's feed and apologies issued: "One of our departing colleagues was understandably upset." [Source]
