Hockey player fails in most embarrassing possible way

3/2/2012

Minnesota Wild right wing Devin Setoguchi was on his way to being the star of the game, after he tied the score with less than 10 seconds to play in the March 1 matchup with one of the NHL's worst teams, the Montreal Canadiens. But after a scoreless overtime, the man who had served as a hero only minutes before blew the team's chances of winning when he botched a shot at what could have been his second game-tying goal of the night and then capped the moment by dramatically wiping out on the ice in front of the goal. "I just decided to do it with a little more flair," Setoguchi said of his attempt afterward, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The shootout was technically over as soon as Setoguchi mishandled the puck, but we're guessing his post-game fall is going to be a lot more memorable.
