Hollywood ditches 'green' rides at Oscars
2/26/2012"Who are you driving?" is the question environmentalists may ask celebs on tonight's red carpet -- and they may be disappointed in the answer. The Hollywood Reporter called reps for 14 eco-conscious luminaries to ask how they'll arrive to tonight's awards show. George Clooney won't be pulling up in either his $109,000 electric Roadster OR in his $108,000 Tango; others didn't respond or said they weren't going. Global Green USA, which used to shuttle stars in a Prius cavalcade, has since abandoned its program.
Not everyone is giving up on keeping Oscar's ride green. General Motors has offered to chauffeur folks in its plug-in Chevy Volt, and car-service firm Econation will use its fleet of hybrid and alternative-fuel cars tonight.
Should Hollywood be 'greener'?
