New home owner spends $30K fixing up the wrong apartment
2/23/2013Chinese homebuyer Gui Lizhong visited his new apartment in Chongqing before the management had gottten around to putting numbers on the doors. As he was preparing to move in, he spent around $30,000 fixing up the flat he says he'd been shown by a sales agent, number 42. The only problem was that he had purchased flat number 41 — a mix-up pointed out to him when the rightful owner showed up. The owner won't swap flats, so Gui is out of luck but based on the photo of the unit above, we're not sure that's entirely bad news. [Source]
