If you're ever confronted by an armed gunman, your last-ditch option for survival could be … a pair of scissors from your desk drawer? That's probably not what the Department of Homeland Security thought would be the main takeaway from their recent safety video, but the scene of an under-siege office worker reaching for the scissors drew the most comments. "Options for Consideration," their training video for what to do if you're targeted by active shooter, has some legitimate tips (identify an escape route, don't hide in a place you can't quickly flee), but they’ve been all overshadowed by those scissors.
