Honest Craigslist ad is a sweet reminder we're not all jerks
6/11/2012General wisdom is that the online world is packed with predators, but we're happy to report there's at least one honest person posting ads in New York City: Michelle LaPlante found a diamond ring in an Upper West Side park and immediately put up fliers and posted an ad on Craigslist advertising her find. Jill Fink, who had lost the engagement ring two days prior, had already given up the search, assuming anyone who found it would keep it. However Fink's co-worker saw the listing, and Fink was shocked and overjoyed to have the ring returned after calling the number listed in the ad. LaPlante has been rewarded for her honesty with a gift card and the fascination of a very jaded city as her simple act of kindness makes headlines.
How would you handle finding a diamond ring?
