Busy mother swears by Xanax as the secret to being a 'better mom'2/19/2013
Modern moms have it tough. Thanks to the ever-watching eyes of social media and mommy blogs, parenting choices are mercilessly judged. But, as this Melbourne, Fla., woman proves, sometimes a bit of judgment might be warranted. Why? Because Hope Chanda told CNN that the addictive anti-anxiety medication Xanax makes her "a better mom." The married mother of twin boys, who began taking the drug to treat panic attacks, says half a milligram of Xanax twice a day helps her handle the stress of parenting, making her more "flexible, tolerant and rational." She also notes that she "looks forward to [taking her] medication" every day. (Duh, lady.) Not to be too critical, but we hope Chanda finds a better source of stress relief before she passes out behind the wheel on the way to her kid's piano recital. [Source]
