'Humiliating' contract mars MLB star's 400th homer
7/5/2012David Ortiz hit his 400th homer as a big leaguer yesterday, but he couldn't really spend too much time enjoying it because his cheapo team, the Boston Red Sox, gave the poor fella only $14.575 million to play this season rather than the two-year, $25 million contract the 36-year-old wanted. Ortiz considers the whole thing both "humiliating" and "embarrassing," USA Today reports, so it's looking extremely likely that the bean counters in Boston won't have to worry about paying him one blessed cent in any future season. Ortiz's offensive firepower may be missed, but his ceaseless whining definitely won't be.
How humiliated would you feel if you had Ortiz's salary?
