At least 'Hunger Games' TV show contestants will be allowed to live

Most people probably took away the message from "The Hunger Games" that pitting people against each other in a brutal fight to the finish is dehumanizing and only entertaining to a truly debauched society. However, execs from the CW network apparently left the blockbuster dystopian fantasy thinking "Hmm … That would actually be great TV." The network has given the green light to a reality show where 12 teams of two are dropped into a wilderness without food, water or shelter and left to survive the wild and "capture" each other. The CW's "Vampire Diaries" definitely benefited from the Twilight move franchise audience crossover, but will people want to see the disturbing themes of "The Hunger Games" play out in real life?
