Bloomberg magazine: 'It's global warming, stupid'

At least one magazine isn't hedging its bets on the relationship between climate change and superstorms like Hurricane Sandy: "It's global warming, stupid," Bloomberg Businessweek blares in red type on its latest cover, a play on the infamous "It's the economy, stupid" mantra that guided Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. In Bloomberg Businessweek, writer Paul M. Barrett says that while "it’s unsophisticated to blame any given storm on climate change," clarity is close. Barrett quotes a report by a German reinsurance firm that found that weather-related losses in North America had quintupled since 1980 and quotes an Environmental Defense Fund VP as saying we now have "weather on steroids."
