Mesmerizing time-lapse video shows Sandy rolling through NYC
10/30/2012Viewed from ground level, Hurricane Sandy looked pretty fierce as it ravaged New York City. But seen from one fixed spot, in footage captured by a webcam atop the New York Times building in midtown Manhattan, it looks mesmerizing, even poetic. The above time-lapse video — which stretches from about noon yesterday to 9:30 a.m. today — is definitely worthy of repeat viewings. We watched it once just focused on the lights, and another time transfixed by the churning sky. The wistful piano music doesn’t hurt the misty mood, either. That was some storm. [Source]
