Looters use holiday spirit to kick Sandy victims while they're down

Some channel their warm holiday spirit into giving to charity. Others use it to loot the homes of people who've just been devastated by a hurricane. Thieves ransacked damaged homes over the holiday in the Breezy Point neighborhood in Queens, New York City, which had already suffered fires and floods during Superstorm Sandy. One couple lost a $25,000 coin collection during and another man lost $400 he had in change jars. He said the theft came as he was trying to repair his damaged home, and that it "adds insult to injury." [Source]
