Artist makes a bloody weird sculpture for politician's birthday
2/25/2013A sculptor working with blood sounds like something out of a schlocky horror film, but that's actually happening in India. Noted artist Hussaini created a bust made of his own frozen blood for Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on her birthday. He made the piece by first crafting it in clay. Then he made a mold and poured in 24 units of his own blood, drawn over the last eight months.The artist made the sculpture to thank the minister for her support of his archery association, and added that she is the "most sports-loving CM of India." Unfortunately, Jayalalithaa was not particularly taken with the sculpture, and has asked Hussaini to never depict her image in blood again. [Source]
