'I had an abortion' tees meet 'I haven’t killed a baby' shirts
4/19/2012Controversy struck the University of North Carolina Wilmington campus this week in the form of $15 T-shirts bearing the words "I had an abortion." The shirts were sold during a book signing and panel discussion by author and activist Jennifer Baumgardner. According to WWAY-TV, supporters of the T-shirts say they're just part of an effort to destigmatize abortion, but counter-protesters didn't see it that way. They branded the shirts "distasteful" and responded with a three-person silent protest wearing their own controversial tees reading "I haven't killed a baby" and "I euthanized my grandpa."
