Ice-swimmers and topless women invade Russian polls3/5/2012
There's now officially no excuse to say you can't get to the voting booth come Election Day. These hearty Siberians swam half-naked to the polls in Barnaul, where temperatures registered as low as 28 degrees Fahrenheit, to vote in the Russian presidential election. Alexander Zelenetsky, Head of the local Polar Bears group, says, "We've voted like this four times already," noting that residents enjoy the photo ops, while his group likes promoting its unusual sport.
Election officials -- already overwhelmed at the polls this voting season by impromptu Caucasian-mountaineer dancing, topless women with "I steal for Putin" painted on their breasts, and five heart attacks -- asked the swimmers to leave the station.
