'Idol' Scotty McCreery collects CMT award, then HS diploma
6/8/2012Scotty McCreery, last year's "American Idol" winner, had a lot to celebrate this week. First he snapped up the "Breakthrough Video of the Year" honor at the CMT Awards on Wednesday night for "The Trouble With Girls," filmed at his own high school. Less than 12 hours later, the 18-year-old walked across the Raleigh Convention Center stage to collect his high school diploma with his graduating class. McCreery, who will attend North Carolina State University in the fall, tweeted, "Ive enjoyed these last 4 years.. wouldnt trade any of them for the world." He planned to celebrate with family, friends and fried chicken, telling CMT, "We're gonna get some Bojangles.""walked across"
