You can read the whole thing here, but key steps include filing a lost property report for your missing ID with the local cops, filling out form TSL 44 — essentially a release stating you agree to background checks — with airport security, then submitting to extensive questioning as a remote agent checks your answers online. Also, prepare to be searched. A lot. Because, yeah, both you and your stuff will be thoroughly examined.
