If you want to pay 10 bucks for Tostitos, move to Canada

6/13/2012

If you're suffering from sticker shock on your weekly grocery run, be thankful you don't live in Nunavut in northern Canada, where a half-gallon of milk could run you close to $9, and a bag of Tostitos will put you back $10.29. Folks there are so outraged by local supermarket prices that they've started a 20K-member-strong Facebook page devoted to the problem, where people can swap coupon tips and bitch about the situation. One outsider asks if there "isn't a way to live a little more off the land?"; another empathetic reader offers, "Can I ship some food up to you guys?"
