New sneakers have America's tallest man walking on air
10/19/2012They took five months to make, but now the tallest man in the U.S. can walk to the mall, or wherever, in a degree of comfort. Standing at a height of just over 7 feet 8 inches tall (that’s 7 inches taller than Shaq), Igor Vovkovinskiy desperately needed shoes that fit his size 24, 10E feet. Having endured 16 foot surgeries in six years because of badly fitted footwear, Vovkovinskiy raised more than $38,000 through an Internet campaign to pay for specially made Reeboks. Three pairs of the sneakers arrived on Thursday, to Vovkovinskiy’s relief. "It feels so good, like I'm walking on pillows or mattresses,” he said. [Source]
