Homeland Security releases 10K illegal immigrants due to budget cuts
2/27/2013Looking for the perfect recipe for an explosion of emotion over a touchy topic? How about the Department of Homeland Security announcing it's releasing 10,000 illegal immigrants from detention jails? Social media sites have erupted today as news hits that DHS has already begun the process of letting out hundreds of detained immigrants, a move being blamed on budget cuts. The Obama administration has previously issued grave warnings about the looming sequestration (cuts scheduled for March 1 that will $1.2 trillion over 10 years), and supporters of the DHS move are asking what anybody thought was going to happen. Yet opponents are calling the decision "blackmail" and blasting the prez for putting the country at risk for what they call politically motivated reasons. [Source]
