Illinois ponders letting undocumented immigrants get driver's licenses

Illinois might soon become the third U.S. state — and the most populous — to allow undocumented immigrants to get driver’s licenses. A bipartisan coalition of powerful Illinois politicians, including Gov. Pat Quinn and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, are pushing the bill, which will be officially proposed when the state legislature convenes Nov. 27.
