In Shanghai, new truck comes with literally tons of free gas
5/22/2012Incentives are a surefire way for car dealers to boost sales, by luring in customers with the promise of, say, $1,000 off or no interest for 36 months. A GMC dealer in Shanghai, meanwhile, has come up with an incentive that would convert even the most devout hybrid driver in the U.S.: Buy a GMC Sierra Denali and the dealership will throw in 5 tons (nearly 2,000 gallons) of gas, for free. Of course, the deal isn't so sweet when total cost is considered. With China's tarrifs on imports and the GMC pickup's made-in-the-USA provenance, that Denali costs the equivalent of about $134,000.
