Cinderella got to go to the ball, but some inaugural hopefuls won't

1/8/2013

Bummer for some would-be inaugural ball-goers. On Monday morning, a limited number of tickets were to be sold to the general public for $60 each on a first-come, first-served basis (though preregistration was required). Alas, the tickets sold out on Sunday night when Ticketmaster mistakenly sent the link to buy tickets to some fortunate souls 12 hours ahead of schedule. Naturally, the early birds snapped all the tickets up ASAP, leaving those who didn't get the early errant email (or didn't notice it until too late) empty-handed — and sad. "I was very disappointed," one woman who hadn't been emailed the link told NBC Washington. "It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." [Source]
