Incredible robot makes 300 sushi rolls an hour
4/7/2012When a company's motto is "We Love Rice" and its logo is a heart next to a grain of rice, you know they take the job of building a sushi-making robot seriously. Japanese company Suzumo introduced its line of SushiBots this week at the World Food and Beverage Great Expo in Tokyo. The countertop machines crank out 3,600 mounds of rice an hour for an average of 300 medium-sized rolls. The bots are likely to be marketed to "all-you-can-eat joints, high-volume supermarkets, sporting venues, hospitals or schools." Apparently, automated sushi making is a growing industry, as Suzumo has several rivals who have also built bots.
