Have you seen this pic buzzing around your various social networks? Chances are high that you have. After all, it's an amazing pic, "taken" from space and showing India during Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. There's only one problem: It's fake. Though it does look like a pic of India when it's running up quite the electric bill, the shot is actually a composite of many pics created by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration way back in 2003 and meant to show changes in the country's population. But now that you know, go easy on your friends if they happen to be among the hundreds of thousands of people who've shared this pic. They just got swept up in the joy of Diwali. [Source]
