Instagram just wants everyone to forget that embarrassing TOS hubbub
12/21/2012The thing that caused the most panic on the Internet this week wasn't the Mayan apocalypse. It was Instagram's update to its terms of service, which drew fire from users concerned that their photos would be auctioned off to advertisers. Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom responded to the criticism by announcing that the service will scrap the offending sections of its proposed new terms and continue using the ones that have been in place since October 2011. "Going forward ... we are going to take the time to complete our plans, and then come back to our users and explain how we would like our advertising business to work," he wrote in a Thursday-night post on Instagram's blog.
