Internet mourns 'Mr. Trololo' as only the Internet can

How does the world mourn a meme? "RIP Eduard Khil" seems to be the most popular YouTube message to the Russian baritone known as "Mr. Trololo," who died on Monday after suffering a recent stroke. Khil's quirkily enthusiastic performance of a song called "I Am Glad, 'Cause I'm Finally Returning Back Home" on a mid-1970s Russian variety show went beyond viral in 2010, racking up millions of views. Khil said that the original lyrics -- a bizarre story of a cowboy, a prairie and a woman knitting a stocking -- were banned by the Soviet government, so he removed the words so he could sing it.
