If you're hot enough to be 'irresistible,' you can be fired in Iowa
12/22/2012Welcome to Iowa. A land of corn. A land of hogs. A land, apparently, filled with so many beautiful ladies that the state is just a big ol' honeytrap. And thus the good men of the Iowa Supreme Court did thus decree Friday that bosses across the Hawkeye State shall from this moment on be allowed to fire workers deemed to be an "irresistable attraction." The all-male court ruled unanimously that its decision was not discriminatory because the firings are motivated by "feelings and emotions" rather than gender. The ruling stemmed from a case in which a dentist fired his comely assistant because he and his wife felt the temptress was a "threat to their marriage." [Source]
