It'll soon be legal to pay for sex in Ontario brothels
3/27/2012The Nevada of the North? The top court in the Canadian province of Ontario issued a ruling today that legalized brothels and also allows prostitutes to have security staff. In its ruling, the court said prostitution is a dangerous profession in which risk is increased by laws preventing sex workers from working in groups in one location with security and other staff. Beginning next year, prostitutes will be allowed to work in brothels, and starting April 25, they can begin hiring bodyguards. One provision left in place is a law barring public communication for purposes of prostitution (picking up a prostitute on the street).
Should prostitution be legalized?
