Basketball fans try to land nation's top recruit by dressing the part
11/25/2012Fans getting involved in the recruitment of high school athletes can be a recipe for trouble with the NCAA, but surely there are no rules against wearing their emotions on their sleeves, or chests. So a couple of Brigham Young University basketball devotees used Twitter and a message board to rustle up donations to print 6,300 shirts welcoming prize recruit Jabari Parker to Saturday's game against Cal State Northridge. Parker is considering BYU among higher profile hoop schools like Duke and Michigan State mostly because of his Mormon faith. And if he decides to attend school elsewhere, the local Goodwill can expect a windfall of "Chicago to Provo" T-shirts. [Source]
