Man finds priceless wild pearl in his hangover oyster

2/27/2013

A British man who picked up some fresh oysters to combat a hangover forgot all about his headache when he bit into one and found an extremely rare pearl. Initially, James Humphries, a Cornwall warehouse manager, thought the lump in his mouth was a filling from one of his own pearly whites. Only when he spat it out did he realize his seafood snack had come with a priceless, one-in-a-million prize. Wild pearls are especially rare in Pacific oysters, like the one Humphries was eating. He plans to embed the "small, but perfectly formed" pearl in a piece of jewelry, he says, "possibly a little silver fish with the pearl for its eye." [Source]
