Husband pulls pregnant wife on makeshift sled to get her to hospital
2/15/2013Lauri and James Wood have five children, but their latest addition, Jimmy, will always be the family's special delivery. When the blizzard of '13 dumped 3 feet of snow on Naugatuck, Conn., the family's car was buried and their street impassable. So James turned a neighbor's car-roof luggage carrier into a sled and, with the help of friends, towed his laboring wife more than 1,000 feet to the first cleared road. A truck then ferried them to Waterbury Hospital. "Pulling a pregnant woman [is] not as easy as it seems," said James. OK, Dad. You get the childbirth part next time. The happiest ending: They didn't name the kid Nemo. [Source]
