Man reunited with basset hound 10 years after he lost her to ex
2/21/2013When Jamie Carpentier lost his dog, Ginger, in a divorce settlement 10 years ago, he never thought he'd get to play with his basset hound again. But when Carpentier decided to get a new pet in January, he checked out his local Humane Society's website — and found a suspiciously familiar pup with the same name. Unbeknownst to Carpentier, his ex-wife had given the dog to the Humane Society in 2003; she was adopted by an elderly couple who returned her when they became unable to care for her. Staff said that Ginger recognized Carpentier almost immediately: "Jamie is her person. She's absolutely his dog." They've now been reunited for good. [Source]
