Teen has to sign 18-point contract with Mom before he can talk to Siri
12/31/2012Thirteen-year-old Greg Hoffman got an iPhone for Christmas, and by age 18 he might actually be able to enjoy it. In the meantime, Big Mother is watching him. Uber-parent Janell Hoffman concocted a list of 18 conditions, including 1) the phone is actually hers (what about "gift" don't you understand, Mom?), 3) never ignore a call from his parents, 4) no calls or texts after 7:30 p.m. (when the world goes to bed), 11) turn it off in public (possibly violating condition No. 3) and 17) put it down occasionally and talk to a stranger (contradicting childhood rule No. 1). Consider this your first real-world lesson, Greg: Beware the fine print. [Source]

Is this a reasonable contract, or is Mom a control freak?
