Home-selling pro tip: Reveal any murder-suicides that happened there

1/30/2013

A Pennsylvania woman is appealing to the state's Supreme Court after her real estate agent forgot to disclose one teeny-tiny detail about the house she bought: the murder-suicide that happened there the year before she bought it. Shortly after Janet Milliken and her children moved into the $610,000 house, a neighbor told her about the grisly crime. She sued the real estate agent and the previous owners — who knew about the murders — accusing them of "a deliberate choice" to keep those details quiet (and anyone who watched the first season of "American Horror Story" knows a murder house is nothing but trouble). Milliken's attorney says that the court should recognize how "troubling" this disclosure was to his client. [Source]
