Fight over 'The Walking Dead' sparks murder attempt, cops say

For Jared Gurman, a 26-year-old from Williston Park, N.Y., "The Walking Dead" is apparently much, much more than a top rated zombie drama. Police have charged him with attempted murder after he allegedly shot his girlfriend Jessica Gelderman in the back after the two bickered about how realistic the show is via text message early Monday morning. Cops say Gurman shot Gelderman when she visited his home to calm him down. "He feels strongly about the possibility that some military mishap could occur. She thinks it's ridiculous ... She was not taking him seriously or taking the show as seriously as he does," said Nassau County Detective Lt. Raymond Cote, adding that Gelderman is in a "serious, but stable condition." [Source]
