Jason Alexander takes a dig at Romney's 'Seinfeld' misquote
2/23/2012Mitt Romney's attempt to connect with the masses by quoting a hugely popular TV show has backfired. During a debate in Arizona, Romney found himself interrupted by a wave of applause. Jokingly he said, "As George Costanza would say, 'When they're applauding, stop.'" Only problem is, George Costanza didn't say that line. Jerry Seinfeld did in the episode "The Burning," in which he tells George, "When you hit that high note, you say goodnight and walk off." Jason Alexander, who played George, took to his Twitter to clear up the situation: "Thrilled Gov. Romney enjoys my old character. I enjoyed the character he used 2 b 2. If he'd embrace that again, he'd b a great candidate."
