'Jaws' theme music as menacing to Oscar winners as it is to swimmers
2/25/2013The Oscars has plenty of time for song-and-dance numbers and bawdy jokes, but not a lot of time for the folks who actually, you know, win Oscars. Victors whose acceptance speeches ran too long were warned to get off stage in maybe the most menacing way possible: the theme from "Jaws." The special effects gurus from "Life of Pi" were the first to fall victim to a shark attack when they won best visual effects. Malik Bendjelloul, the director of best documentary feature "Searching for Sugar Man," was also swallowed by the menacing music. "Poor thing," Nicole Kidman was seen remarking to her husband Keith Urban as Bendjelloul was played off.
