J. Crew 'retired' the Obama ladies' fab coat and accessories

1/23/2013

If you want to look like one of the fashion-forward Obama ladies, you’re out of luck. J.Crew is "retiring" a pair of items worn during Monday's Inauguration events by first lady Michelle Obama and first (eldest) daughter Malia. So if you had your heart set on the rhinestone-studded sash that FLOTUS effortlessly turned into a belt, you're out of luck. Same goes for Malia's plum-colored overcoat, a style that J.Crew will continue to make, but not in that particular shade. Said the label's creative director, Jenna Lyons (a fashion trendsetter in her own right), the sash and coat are being taken out of circulation "out of respect" for the family. [Source]
