Jeep Twitter account hack makes everyone look stupid

2/19/2013

The guy who hacked Burger King’s Twitter account yesterday appeared to pull the same trick on Jeep 24 hours later. And everyone involved looks really silly right now. Web sleuths have revealed the likely culprit as a local Rhode Island DJ called Tony "iThug" Cunha. He covered his (alleged) tracks very badly, and might be getting a visit from angry lawyers soon. Also with egg on their face? Jeep’s outsourced social media agency Ignite, who posted a "How Not to Get Hacked" article on their website… 15 minutes before their client got hacked. Ouch. Can we start the #hubris hashtag? [Source]
