Watch the picture-perfect dunk that didn't win the NBA contest
2/17/2013The slam dunk contest at the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend was something less than an artistic success: There were twice as many misses as makes. But don't blame defending champ Jeremy Evans, whose creativity extended far beyond the court. A gifted painter, the Utah Jazz forward imagined himself on canvas dunking over a veiled portrait propped up on an easel — and then went out and created that very thing before unveiling and signing it right after the dunk. It took a week and a half for Evans to complete the portrait, he said, and yet the popular vote crowned Terrence Ross as the champion. Basketball fans might not know art, but they know what they like. [Source]
